Short answer: we're a small independent publisher, everything here is AI-built and verified before it ships, we sell original material only, and we refund without friction. Here is every uncomfortable question answered in plain language.
Who we are
A small publisher with an AI pipeline — and we say so
Clarity Academic is an independent publisher of UC Berkeley exam-prep materials: one person sets the requirements and audits the output; AI systems do the drafting and the machine verification. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by UC Berkeley — that line is why everything we sell is original, and we mark it in the footer of every PDF.
The AI question
Is the content AI-generated? Yes.
Every product is built with AI under human direction: humans set the requirements, AI drafts, and nothing ships until it passes verification — every numeric answer independently re-derived (roughly 150 re-derivations across the original catalog, zero errors), answer keys audited against the exams they grade, and the full set checked against its requirements before release. You could ask an AI for practice problems yourself; then you'd have to check every one. We sell the checked version. Our own products even teach students where AI fails on each course's material — we document the failure modes because our QA is built to catch exactly those.
What we don't claim
The claims we refuse to make
- No professor wrote this, and no credentialed tutor reviewed it
- No outcome numbers we haven't measured ("raise your grade by X")
- No instructor names anywhere, and no course-owned content of any kind
- No fake precision: anything uncertain (like this term's exam weights) is flagged for your syllabus

Refunds, payments, and what we know about you
Refunds: 14 days, no questions asked, on every paid product — email hello@clarityacademic.com and it's done. Payments run through Gumroad; we never see your card. Data: the site has no accounts and no tracking beyond what your browser already does; the Privacy page has the details.
